In the evening of Dec. 31st, 2020, Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, the Abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda celebrated The 3rd gratitude to the disciples who left home and lay men with the attending of more than 700 people.
All existence is interrelated, mutually supportive. An individual cannot exist independently among all things, but must depend on each other to form and develop. Accordingly, a venerated teacher is a tradition from thousands of generations. The master must have the support of the disciples for which the job is done. So, the Buddhism activities at Hoang Phap pagoda gained good achievements because of the contribution of many factors. One of the important factors is the contribution of the monks and Buddhists in the pagoda.
After the introduction, the Abbot declared the opening of the ceremony. Next was the part “Lighting Candles for Gratitude”. The lights of the candles represented the warm and close between the master and the disciples.
Next, Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh briefly talked about his life and predestined relationship from the time he was ordained until he received the Hoang Phap pagoda with the ups and downs of the world, but he still persisted in his purpose and ideal. That is: "Developing the temple, continuing the career of propagating the dharma". To have the presence of him to this day, it is the grace of parents that was born; the patriarch gave his ordination, the offering is supplied by benefactors. Moreover, the affairs at the temple are thanks to the devotion and joint strength of monks and Buddhists. Therefore, the Gratitude Ceremony is an opportunity for the Master to express his deep heart, a message to the mass together with him to develop Dharma propaganda activities, helping people to approach Buddhism towards noble, good roads.
Accordingly, the monks and the Buddhists who joined the ceremony could reveal and share their thoughts about the Abbot, the people and their wishes etc.
At the end of the ceremony, the Abbot presented the grateful gift to each person.
