The 5th Day of Temporary Ordination
Update: 30/07/2020
On July 30th, 2020 was the 5th day at the retreat, all participants heard a short talk from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Truong by the theme Habits Forming Human Character.
Youth is the time to decide on life in the future. We should use time effectively by learning good habits, contributing to building a civilized society and a prosperous country, so the quality of life in our future will be good. At this talk, Junior Ven. helped to increase the knowledge about forming cultural behaviors in four aspects: Communication, independence, culture of queuing, throwing garbage in the right place to educate children in cultural awareness at community, protecting the surrounding environment.
That afternoon, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Thuc shared with the children by the topic If This tomorrow ... In his touching story, the Monk told all young learners to cherish the time their parents are with, especially the mother, because she is the one who gave birth to us, always takes care and loves us. How will we live if mom has no existence tomorrow in life? Right now, let us be docile, obey our parents, study hard and do what we can to her. We must respect our mother, not make her sad due to us.
At night, Junior Ven.Thich Tam An, Abbot of Hung Phap Pagoda (Xuan Hung, Xuan Loc, Dong Nai) came to the lecture hall with his speech on the topic The Buddha of mine.
Parents always love and unconditionally care about us regardless of what happens in this life. Thus, we also have two "Buddhas" that each person must worship and respect - that is father and mother besides our spiritual Buddha. Along with touching stories, Venerable reminded loving and the deep gratitude to the parents for the listeners.
He hoped when returning home, the children will respect their parents with small actions: obey their parents, study well, and help with housework ... because of the current complicated epidemic situation, so the retreat ended earlier than expected in the program. This is the last day of the retreat.
