The 5th Day of Temporary ordination in Summer for Children at Dong Cao Pagoda
Update: 05/06/2022
On June 3, 2022 (May 5, LC) entered the fifth day, after reading the poem of gratitude, and walking meditation with monks, all children began the catechesis contest in the retreat to help them understand more about the temple and the basics of the Buddha's teachings.
During the skill time, the children were shared by Teacher Mai Anh Dung, a member of Thanh Hoa Provincial Drowning Prevention Association with the topic "Instructing drowning prevention skills".
By simple words, quizzes helped listeners easily absorb the essential issues in life and perform some basic skills in first aid and emergency aid when drowning. They can promptly protect themselves when there are no relative ones around.
In the afternoon, the children practice sitting in meditation, reading gratitude and reciting Buddha's name. After that, they were given outdoor activities such as soccer, tug-of-war and especially swimming in the pond back to their childhood. All games are actively and enthusiastically attended by the children. The program aims to help participants live close to each other and boldly develop their abilities. After that, they were able to play and sing along with their members.
Under the instruction of MC Hien Phan, the program of Gratitude to Parents in the evening is the highlight of this retreat. At the beginning, little practitioners listened to a dharma talk preached by Junior Thich Tam Khiet with the title Meaning of Gratitude Ceremony. When watching the clip of the parents, the learners had spiritual feelings for their two parents. In particular, the children boldly voiced their thoughts about their parents, as well as offered tea to venerables, then gave flowers and tea to their parents.
The happiest thing for them is having their birthday in June being congratulated by the Sangha.
On behalf of the current monks in this ceremony, the Abbot gave a few words to children and their parents: “We should be role models for our children and grandchildren. Once we have to be a parent, grandparent then set an example for our children and grandchildren and know how to build a family education"
Interspersed in the program are songs about parents performed by the children.
The fifth day of practice ended in the innocence of remembering their parents.
