The birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara at Cambodia Hoằng Pháp Pagoda

On occasion the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, at 17 p.m in the evening of July 17th, 2022 (June 19th, LC), Cambodia Hoằng Pháp Pagoda organized the prostration five hundred names Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. This rite helps Buddhists to pay tribute and practice following His vows.

Before starting the rite, Junior Thich Tam Truc, Abbot of Cambodia Hoang Phap Pagoda shared about the merits of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and the meaning of prostrating his name to transform body and mind in daily life which will support us a happy life and many benefits.

Accordingly, the monks chanted the name of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and after each of his titles, the participants joined in "Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva". With a sincere heart towards the Bodhisattva, the mass vow to transfer warm energy, pray everywhere for peacefulness, relieve suffering. In that spirit, the practitioners completed 500 prostrations of names Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

After completing the ritual, Buddhists have a vegetarian meal at the temple.

In the afternoon, a number of Buddhists volunteered to help with necessary deeds at the temple. Junior Thich Tam Truc showed his gratitude to all Buddhists who returned to the temple to attend the ritual and help with the temple's work. Praying for the Graces of Three Jewels will bless Buddhists having peace of mind and body, as well as a happy family.
