The Buddha’s Birthday Celebration at Gia Lam Pagoda, Ha Tinh Province

According to annual Buddhism tradition, on April 15th, (Rooster Year), Buddhists from all over the world joyfully welcome the Amitabha Buddha’s Birthday.

In this occasion, monks, Buddhists gathered at local pagodas to solemnly hold this celebration with their pious heart. The birth of the Buddha remarked to brand new wisdom – an own available enlightening potential. When Buddha enlightened the releasing suffering, He gave us a mysterious message that all human beings can become Buddha.

With the joy of welcoming the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration in over the country, monks and Buddhists of Gia Lam Pagoda- Tinh Phap, Thach Tan Commune, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province held many activities to celebrate the day BodhiSattva Siddhartha, who was born in the samsara world for saving human beings.

On the morning of May 6th,2017 (April 11th,Rooster Year), Gia Lam Pagoda, Tinh Phap solemnly held the celebration ofThe Buddha’s Birthday, Buddha Calendar 2561. Coming to witness this celebration are Senior Ven. Thich Hanh Nhan, vice-chairman ofHead of Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, Ha Tinh Province; Senior Ven Thich Chuc Cuong, chief of Head of Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, Ha Tinh Province – abbot of Huu Lac Pagoda; Senior Ven. Thich Thien Nhon, vice chairman of Head of Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, Thach Ha District – abbot of Thanh Quang Pagoda, and monks of local pagodas in Ha Tinh Province. There are also representatives of authority and inner and outer district Buddhists.

At 8:30 AM, the board started to celebrateThe Buddha’s Birthday Celebration Buddha Calendar 2561. At the ceremony, on behalf of monks Senior Ven. Thich Hanh Nhan read “A message from Dharma chiefof Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam to monks, Vietnamese layperson Buddhists on an occasion ofThe Buddha’s Birthday Celebration Buddha Calendar 2561”. Then, Senior Ven. Thich Thien Nhon read a greeting speech.

Ending the ceremony; monks, delegates incensed and washed a Buddha’s statue, released balloons and peaceful doves in a solemn, pious, united spirit on the Buddha’s appearance day.
