The ceremony of taking refuge at Dang Phap Pagoda- Binh Phuoc Province

In order to create firm belief in Buddhists, on Mar. 24th, 2019 (lunar on Feb. 19th, in Pig year), there is a ceremony of taking refuge is formally hold to all participating believers who trusted in the Three Gems at Dang Phap Pagoda, the highway 14, village 2, Doan Ket ward, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province.

TAt 8:30, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quang, Abbot of Dang Phap Pagoda preached basic rules to the new-learner. During the course, Junior Ven. instructed to let the mass understand clearly the life of Buddha, the meaning of taking refuge, the reason for taking refuge and some necessary dignities to a disciple of the Buddha.

Later, the mass solemnly welcomed all Venerable into the main hall preaching about Three Refuge and Five Precepts. After the Junior Venerable Abbot offering the incense, the Buddhists had a speech to the Venerables to wish receiving precepts. Because Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City is reading sutra at a quiet room, unable to be directly present to transmit the precepts, as well as the Master’s permission, Junior Ven. instructed ritual sections  to the mass  and all of them to be transferred five precepts by the clip taught from the Master's retreat.

Lastly, the Venerable reminded some special points in the Five Commandments:

First, the Five commandments is the common rules, five regulations, basic morality of each person. Those are the disciplines that people base on to cultivate from a normal person to become as a Saint person.

Second, when holding any disciplines, Buddhists could liberty that bad habit, and that will benefit for the present and future life.

Third, keeping disciplines means that when Buddhists face difficulties could lead to be lost their precepts, he/she will  stop and try not to break them, that is called keeping disciplines.

Forth, there are five portions of bless were brought for the rules' keepers. One, the rules’ keepers will get much more property. Two, he/she will have its good fame. Three, disciplines’ keepers will be kind-heart, brave, not afraid of appearing in to crowd. Four, they will have a clear-mind while close dying. Five, they will be rebirth on the happy-land in their next life.

Above are the benefits for the keepers of precepts, when Buddhists could keep any rules, they could abandon that bad habit.

In the end of the ceremony, the participants were taken Three Refuge and received dharma gifts and Buddhist certificates.
