The “Envoy of Tathagata" Retreat at Hoa Phuc pagoda

Hoa Phuc pagoda in Quoc Oai district, Hanoi city held for The 1st retreat named “Envoy of Tathagata" on Sep. 27th, 2020 for the elite Buddhists, including the permanent attended members of the pagoda, Buddhists who received the Bodhisattva's precepts and civil servants, etc, specialized in cultivation in one day.

At 8:00 am, Buddhists gathered in the lecture halls to welcome Junior Thich Tam Hoa, Abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda, attending at the course of chanting the penance sutra of the Buddha’s names, reciting the Buddha's names with one mind. The retreat titled the“Tathagata’s Herald" has shown the spirit of awakening by the image of practitioners solemnly lining up, practicing quietly, and entering the dining-room to eat meals in mindfulness.

In the afternoon, the mass began to recite the Bodhisattva Precepts consisting of 6 major precepts and 28 minor ones for disciples at home. After chanting the precepts, the Buddhists continued to attend catechism class in charge of Junior Thich Tam Hoa. He clearly explained the meaning and instructed the practice of each precept to present Buddhists in the retreat, especially those who received the Bodhisattva precepts to better understand and practice the precepts according to the Buddha’s teachings.

The retreat closed in joy for the participants.
