The great Buddha’s Birthday Celebration at Hoa Phuc Pagoda – Hanoi

On May 27th 2018 (Lunar April 13th the Dog Year), Hoa Phuc Pagoda – located at Hoa Thach Commune, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi City, solemnly held the great Buddha’s birthday ceremony – year 2562 in Buddhist Calendar and 2018 as Solar Year with over 3,000 Buddhist attendants.

Passing 2,642 years, the birth of Buddha still has been a symbol of peace, joy all over the world. To prepare for this great ceremony, Hoa Phuc Pagoda organized the program “The peaceful paper cranes – the joyful Buddha’s Birthday” for the Buddhists, teenagers, students of The Filial piety Course folding paper cranes and writing their pray. The program was responded enthusiastically from the Buddhists. Some of paper cranes were came from Vung Tau in which mother is taking care of her dangerous sick child. Some of those were came from Buddhists in many places of our country. The images of wheel pins, paper cranes in the color of Buddhism’s flags were decorated in every place of Lubini garden. This was a place carried out the traditional ritual “Bathing the Buddha”. There was a small section exhibited the letters, pictures, cards of the children from The Filial piety Course. Though the pictures, letters were still naive, those were their whole-heart ones which were painting branches of Hoa Phuc Bodhi brought up the buds of method to attain nirvana.

 In the afternoon, nearly 500 Buddhists were transmitted Triratna Refuge and Five Precepts by the Senior Ven. - abbot of the pagoda. 

They officially became Buddhists and relied on Triratna Refuge as place of their moral support.
