The Great Ceremony of Buddha Birthday at Giai Lam Pagoda, Ha Tinh

On May 19th, 2024 (April 12th, LC), Giai Lam Pagoda in Ha Tinh (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s custom) managed by Junior Thich Tam Luc, solemnly held the Great ceremony of Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist calendar 2568.

At 8:45 a.m, good men and believing women returned to Giai Lam Pagoda, invited the Sangha to the lecture hall, and celebrated the Buddha's birthday.

After introducing the program and participants, the youth delegation of Giai Lam Pagoda respectfully offered fresh flowers to Three Jewels in ten directions.

The ceremony was attended and witnessed by Senior Thich Thien Nhon, standing member of Director Board (DB) of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Ha Tinh province, Head of Buddhist Culture Board of Ha Tinh province - Head of DB in Thach Ha district, proclaimed the Buddha's Birthday Message of Dharma Lord of VBS, Buddhist Calendar in 2568.

Next, the local government gave a congratulatory speech for this important event, as well as a flower basket to the temple.

On behalf of the Organizers, expressing gratitude to venerables, guests, and Buddhists attending the ceremony, Junior Thich Tam Luc thanked the mass.

Next, the mass turned towards the Buddha statue, calmed their minds, and felt the sound of the bell and the poem from Junior Thich Dao Thuyen.

Three bells of the Prajnaparamita drum rang out, monks and Buddhists officially opened the ceremony to welcome Buddha's Birth - a symbol of peace and freedom.

The great ceremony ended after the  bathing of the Buddha honor-statue in the joy of all participants.
