The peaceful and happy retreat at Tieu Dao pagoda - Quang Ninh

Receiving an invitation from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Tinh as Abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda, Senior Ven. Thich Hien Thien - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (V.B.S) in Quang Ninh Province, Chief of Director of the V.B.S in Cam Pha City came to share a dharma talk with its theme Peace And Delight In The Human's Mind And Body. Lecturer Ven. shared, when the mind is uneasy, the body will not get happy. So, we have to practice balance on our mind and body. Human nature always has bottomless greed. When an one is young and healthy, he will look for lots of money, then giving much money to its children and making them become guilt. To old age with chronic illness, that accumulated money has been used for medical treatment. As a result, this life of man is always full of stress.

Sometimes we have bothered our minds when spending almost every time with modern technology, such as television, phone and then to WiFi computer, forgetting how to enjoy all my free time. Because the information we approach every day has caused more trouble for us, unless we can control the time for those things, it is moments for us to find quietness and calmness in the mind.

Before the end of the lecture, the monk reminded the mass should not chase after the fame or money, make our life full of stress at present, and then regret the passed golden past. A living like that, the one will lose the value of life because of effecting the past andworrying about the future.

We should understand, love ourselves and be satisfied with what we have. If ones want to have a peaceful mind and body, every person should live at "the present and now", trying to manager the body and mind by living a healthy life, moderate eating, reducing stress at work, maintaining good health, reducing greed, desires, etc.,  the practitioner will gain the peaceful mind that the Buddha s’ disciple always aim for.

Next, it is the time of chanting of repentance and transferring precepts  by the Abbot to Buddhists.
