The Repentant Ceremony of Aug. 30th Monkey year.

In the evening of Sep. 30th, 2016 (lunar Aug. 30th Monkey year) Hoang Phap pagoda organized the repentant ceremony as usual with thousands of local and surrounding Buddhists’ attendance.

This time, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hung, abbot of Quoc Thoi pagoda, Long Thoi commune, Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province had a speech to the mass with the theme on “Cultivation for transferring karma”

By the real stories together with the Patriarch and Buddha’s teaching words, he analyzed and revealed what is the cultivation? What is the karma? How is the cultivation to transfer our karma?

All happy and suffering things of human, individuals or group, cluding all society, etc, are caused by human. So, Buddhism extremely focuses on three important karmas - body, mouth, and thought. We know that cultivation means mistake mending, therefore, Buddhists’ rectification is not difficult; they only need to mend at these ones, transfering three ones from bad good to good ones. For example, oreviously we usually think badly, leading our activities and speech to ugly, such as abuse, scolding; evil deed, robbery, killing, etc, but when we know to cultivate, we should transfer them, without causing it again. We are skilled to cultivate and change our three karmas. When the three karmas of our thought, mouth, body are released from ugliness to politeness, from impurity to purity; certainly, we will have permanent happiness in our life.

Beside that, cultivators have to be diligent in their practice to increase belief in the Triratna, Buddha’s teachings as well as practice the “patience” word in our life. It is an important condition to help our capability to step strongly on the path toward enlightenment.

After preaching, the mass initially chanted the repentant sutra of six sences and Buddha precepts as usual.
