The Retreat of Eight Precepts in Lunar September at Hoa Phuc Pagoda, Hanoi

On the Oct. 7th, 2016 (lunar Sep. 7th, Monkey year) Hoa Phuc Pagoda formally organized the retreat of Eight Precepts for 130 practioners from the 7-9th day of Oct. in 2016.

After finishing the registration and receiving room, at 2 P.M, all Buddhists respectfully welcomed Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hoa, abbot of Hoa Phuc Pagoda, to come to the lecture hall for offering incense to Buddha and transferring eight precepts to Buddhists.

On the pure and formal atmosphere of mixing with the pervasive frankincense smell, the cultivatorsvowed in front of the Triratna as of diligent cultivation, keeping on receiving precepts, which helps increase their blessing and then prays for human over the world early gaining the peace and happiness in the Buddha’s dharma.

Spending three days of cultivation, the practioners released their sufferings, developed their belief thankingto the cultivated course’s time, as well as listened to dharma, chanted sutras, recited the Buddha’s name and walked meditation, etc, which had been required by the organizers, and strictly complied with the Venerables. Beside cultivation time, practioners volunteerly did free deeds of cleaning around the pagoda, helping construct the peaceful beauty of religious place.

To finish this cultivation course, on the afternoon of Oct. 9th, all cultivators attended the ceremony of precepts abandonment. He reminded all the mass must always remmember that they are the Buddhists, Buddhas and Bodhi Sattavare in the future, Therefore, although living in pagoda or stay at home, they need diligent effort of cultivation, apply the Buddha's tenet on their living to help enlight the dark of ignorant life.
