The Retreat of Eight Precepts in three days and two nights at Hoa Phuc Pagoda

After long period of social distance to prevent the pandemic, Buddhists of Hoa Phuc Pagoda and Buddhist followers near and far could return to the remote pagoda at Hoa Truc hamlet, Hoa Thach commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi, to attend The Retreat of Eight Precepts in three days and two nights in deliverance joy on May 22nd – 24th, 2020 (lunar April 30th – intercalary month of April 02nd, Year of Mouse).

In the solemn moment of the rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hoa - Abbot of Hoa Phuc Pagoda transmitted the precepts.

Thank to listening Dharma, Buddhists understood the eight precepts and vowed to study diligently and practice renunciation, transforming body and mind, growing merit.

In the sultry heat of the summer weather, most of Buddhists are elders, their legs are tired but strictly observe the time of prostrating the Buddha, chanting of Ksitigarbha, making all merit, having meals in silence, learning"Encourage the development of bodhicitta" with all devotion and diligently practice under the guidance of the monks at Hoa Phuc Pagoda

The retreat closed perfectly with a rite of abandoning eight precepts and some advice, encouragement words from the Abbot, desiring Buddhists to be aware of preserving pure virtue as lotuses in muddy pond.

On May 31st, 2020 (intercalary month of April 09th, Year of Mouse): will be One-Day Peaceful Cultivation Course at Hoa Phuc Pagoda. Respectfully invited all Buddhists to attend!
