The retreat "Sowing seeds lotus" at Dong Cao Pagoda

Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa province held The 5th retreat "Sowing seeds lotus" with the theme "Kids returning to the Buddha on mid-autumn” for more than 200 children aged 6 to 13 years old residing inside and outside the district to attend on Sep. 27th, 2020 (lunar Aug. 11th, Year of Mouse). This is a healthy playground for children to cultivate morality in this mid-autumn festival.

After registering, Junior Thich Tam Hung, Head of the Organizers, instructed the poem of "Gratitude". After that, Ms. Quynh Anh and members in the Youth Club had singing activities for children in the lecture hall. At 9:00 am, the monk taught all children to learn the necessary postures when going to the temple and performing the ritual of the liberation creature. After that, the kids spent their creative time painting the statues.

In the afternoon, all children had the time to practice sitting meditation with the monk. Under instruction by martial teacher Trinh Van Tung, Vovinam Bim Son Club and all members in the club, the children studied self-defense movements and exercise health.

At the end of the retreat, there was a folk dance performed by the trainees and the club’s volunteers. During this retreat, the organizers gave each of the children a lantern and a dharma gift.
