The third day of Temporary ordination retreat for Children in Summer

On June 22, 2022 is the third day of the retreat; after using breakfast, Junior Thich Tam Thien had a dharma talk to all small audiences with the theme named "Good - bad".

Human life has many interwoven relationships, which require us to have the ability to behave in a way that is right and appropriate. To help all young listeners understand what is a good or bad action, the monk pointed out three actions’ aspects: bringing benefits to ourselves and others; bringing benefits to the present and future; praised by the wise.

Based on those three criteria, he has analyzed each of Buddhists’ five precepts so that we can understand the benefits and upholding of those ones. Then, the monk talked about the benefits and harms of playing games and surfing social networks. He emphasized how we become human by ourselves, not blaming the situation or anyone. Think, act well and direct our life to the path of benefit for ourselves and those around us.

After meditating in the afternoon, young learners listened to life's skills taught by Novice Thich Tam Thao. We can step out and stand firm in the challenges of life that require us to equip many necessary skills. We need to train ourselves to be independent and mature in every thought and action to be able to overcome difficulties and adversities that life brings. Do not be immersed in the attraction of social networks, but train ourselves by reading books, learning useful knowledge, and helpful skills.

After chanting Ullambana in the evening, novice Thich Tam Hoa preached a lecture named "Don't be mistaken." In life, there are things we see and hear, but the truth is not what we think, making us misunderstand.

Funny stories, fairy tales, and short videos have shown these harmful "mistakes", if we do not have the right view and understanding of the truth, we will face many unpredictable consequences.
