The Ullambana ceremony of pious gratitude at Hung Phap Pagoda in Dong Nai Province

According to the spirit of gratitude and pious paying of the Ullambana on Sep. 10th, 2017 (lunar July 20th, Rooster Year) Hung Phap Pagoda at Xuan Hung Commune, Xuan Loc District, Dong Nai Province organized important celebration of the Ullambana ceremony of pious gratitude – Buddhism calendar 2561- Solar calendar 2017.

Response to the invitation from Junior Ven. Thich Tam An, the Sanghas of Hoang Phap Pagoda and his master returned to celebrate the great ceremony. The attendances to witness for the ceremony included Senior Ven. Thich Chieu Dinh, Abbot of Thien Lam Pagoda at Xuan Hung Commune, Dong Nai Province; Bonze. Ven. Thich Minh Giac at Truc Lam Monastery, Dinh mountain, Vung Tau City; Nun Ven. Thich Nu Thanh Giac in Dong Nai Province; Bonze. Ven. Thich Giac Ngam at Ngoc Hung Monastery, in Dong Nai Province; Nun Ven. Thich Nu Chuc Phuong, Thich Nu Phuong Thao at Phat Hung Pagoda. Besides, there were nearly 1000 Buddhists returning to attend the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the rite of flower offering practiced by the group of Oanh Vu. Next was the rite of rose pinning. Continuously, Little girl My Loi sang a song to the mass named “Maudgalyayana saves his mother”. Particularly, in the program   of today was the gratitude rite of Junior Abbot Ven.

Preaching dharma for the ceremony, the Junior Ven. explained the goal and meaning of Ullambana ceremony. By the words of remembering parents’ gratitudes, the Junior Ven. interpreted more the practice of pious feeding, pious mind and pious respect of the Buddha's children as well as reminded   people who have their parents, have to be respectful and pious paying by the most practical action.

Continuing of the program, the song “Hey, daddy” shown by two Kids Ru, Na. The young Buddhists who deputized the mass respectfully offered robes to the current Venerables.

Ending the ceremony, the mass began chanting Ullambana sutra.
