Update: 26/05/2021
The Buddha's birthday was an important and significant event in the mind of Buddhism disciples; However, continuing in this year, Buddha's Birthday is back in the situation of the whole world suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the monasteries have performed the traditional Buddha bathing ritual, chanting sutra to celebrate the Great Buddha's Birthday depending on conditions of each pagoda, ensuring epidemic prevention measures. Therefore, Hoang Phap Pagoda solemnly organized Buddha's Birthday 2021, Buddhist calendar 2565 is only for monks and Buddhists who are currently studying and temporarily residing at the pagoda.
On time to start the rite, all Buddhists in the interior of the pagoda solemnly welcomed the Sangha to enter the stage for opening the rite of incense offering to the Buddha.
After having stated the reason and introducing the ceremony program and delegates, on behalf of the Organizers, Junior Thich Tam Truong gave a speech on the Vesak and Junior Thich Tam Tri addressed its ritual meaning.
Next, Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, Head of the Organizers, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, had a dharma talk to the mass. First of all, the Venerable sent his apology to the Director Board for the extra number of participants and clearly stated the reason why this happened so that the people everywhere could understand and sympathize.
All situations in life are good or bad caused by the greed, hatred and ignorance of humans without being punished due to any gods; therefore, it is human beings who could change this life. The Venerable earnestly called for awareness in each person to protect body and mind, protect nature and protect life; each one should be a messenger of peace. Of course, when we live according to natural principles, this world will change in a positive way and the epidemic will be eliminated - that is the law of causes and effects for thousands of years.
Then, the mass listened to the bell and verses chanting from Junior Thich Tam Luan.
At last, monks and Buddhists performed the ritual of offering incense, celebrating the Buddha Birthday and releasing balloons - a symbol of peace and freedom.
