Ullambana Ceremony in Taiwan

In the Xinbei City, Taiwan, the ceremony was taken place with the joining of 160 Vietnamese Buddhist.
In the solemn and reverent ambiance, over 500 joined crowd including male and female thinking of their parents with all gratitude for giving born and rearing them. The life in overseas is not easy for them and keeping in mind the image of parent and families helps them to overcome all difficulties, and be stronger. Understanding their burden in heart, Ven. Thich Chan Tinh had given some encouraging talk and reminded them of the first rule to be virtuous ones is being a pious person. Parental love is the most sacred emotion in the world.
For further taking the Buddhist teaching into practice, besides the material support, one should guide and send Buddhism ideas to parent. Because according to Buddhist teaching, the highest piety is leading the parent to the Buddhist way, so that they can practice themselves and be out of the recycle of birth and death or the samsara. The Buddha taught that everyone is themselves heir in karma. So if we help to satisfy them only material things, when life is finished we have to separate and following one’s karma. This’s why guiding them into the Buddha’s teaching is considered the highest piety because they can be free from all defilements and attain enlightenment, remaining no more birth and death.
To lift up the ceremony ambiance, there was a performance from the Hoang Phap monks and singer An Thien Vy.
The ceremony finished in the joyful and gratitude of all the attending people. They all took one minute to send the Triratna Bless to their parent and as well as to those parents from over the world and hope all children will be the pious one to their parents.
After the ceremony, people visited some beauty spots in Taiwan as Fa Gu Shan, Zhongtai Shi, Ling Yan Shan Shi, and Fo Guang Shan.
