Ullambana Ceremony of Jeondeungsa Temple - Incheon, Korea

On August 7th, 2022, at Jeondeungsa Temple in Incheon, South Korea held the Great Ullambana Ceremony, Buddha Calendar 2566, Solar Calendar 2022.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Abbot, Deputy Abbot of the Pagoda, monks of Vietnam Hoang Phap Pagoda, and more than 400 Buddhists gathered to attend.
The program recreated the unique cultural features of Vietnamese Buddhism in foreign countries. After the monks' teachings, the song of rose pinning is the ceremony’s most sacred moment. Red and white roses began to be placed on the left chest; tears rolled down the face of Vietnamese expatriates always remembering the gratitude to their parents.
In order to dedicate merit to present parents, ancestors of many previous lives, the representative of Buddhists made the offering to monks and nuns. Under the guidance of monks, the ashram recited Ullambana sutra to commemorate the merits of being born of parents.
The Buddhist cultural program on gratitude to parents and Vietnamese antique costumes' showing aimed to promote the country 's culture to the neighboring country closed the ritual. Finally, the Organizers gave 140 (bags) of rice to charity for the disabled and 200 gifts to children.
