Vesak at Can Mon Pagoda – Nghe An

Update: 05/06/2018
Today, we are all happy about the day Siddhattha was born, but most of us consider Siddhattha a holy God who is capable of granting blessings and sorrows, so we pray for prestige, talent and beauty; not many of us are on the same way as was Siddhattha. Buddhism, therefore, is somewhat outdated and does not play such an essential role as before, especially during Ly and Tran dynasties (the kings are all Buddhist). The previous popularity was partly thanks to the spiritually virtuous masters with great talents and virtues who contributed to helping the kings to build a prosperous and peaceful country. Accordingly, in order for Buddhism to continue playing its important part in bringing prosperity and peace to everybody, every family, every country and society, we need to make considerable efforts to renew Buddhism so it can be adapted to this new era.
