April coming brings with early summer rains. Buddhists are excited and joyful to celebrate Buddha"s birthday. On May, 17th, 2015 ( April, 9thLunar calendar Monkey year), Vesak festival (2560th Buddhist Calendar) was taken place at Dong Cao Pagoda, Yen Khoai Commune, Nga Yen Village, Nga Son suburban district, Thanh Hoa province.
Monks and nuns of the Vietnam Buddhist Church in Thanh Hoa province attended to prove the ceremony. In addition, there were the presence of local authorities at all ranks, and over 1000 Buddhists inside and outside the district. Despite the lack of facilities, Junior venerable Thich Tam Hung and the monks did try hard to celebrate the ceremony successfully.
That Buddha appears in the world is an extremely rare cause and condition. He showed us the path to peacefulness and getting rid of the defilement life. He is the greatest teacher of all time, master of celestial and human. Therefore, the celebration of Buddha's birth is bringing many blessings, which is an occasion to honor the noble values from Buddhism to life, to help people understand more about the Buddha and his life, from which his noble personality is emulated .
At 9 o’clock sharp, official celebration program took place. Venerable Thich Nguyen, on behalf of the monks present, proclaimed Encyclical Happy Vesak's message from the Head of Emeritus Committee - Viet Nam Buddhists to Bhikkhus, Bhikkhunis, Lay Buddhists. Next, nuns Thich Nu Thanh Thuy read the meaning Vesak. After that was the Drama of the Venerable Thich Tam Hung, Cao Dong Temple’s abbot. Ending the ceremony, Buddhist gathered on the stage and performed washing a Buddha rituals and released bubbles to pray for world peace.
In the afternoon, monks and Buddhist released living creatures as a work of meritand recitations of Sutra. Then, everyone paraded flower lantern carriages to celebrate the Buddha's birthday. The ceremony ended in the joy of everyone.
