Vesak Ceremony for the Vietnamese at Yonggungsa Temple, Korea

Attending and wishing for the ceremony there is Younggungsa’s Vice Abbot and the Hoang Phap’s monks who stay there and some came from Vietnam. Many Vietnamese who work and study in Korea also partake in the ceremony. This is the third time Hoang Phap temple organized the Vesak ceremony for Vietnamese Buddhist in Incheon city, Korea. A solemn ceremony was made in the full respect of all participants.
For the beginning, after introducing and addressing the ceremony’s reason, the Buddhist lays started flower-offering. Then the Vice Abbot, Ven. Tehyu had a short speech and Ven. Thich Tam Thuc, on the behalf of Hoang Phap monks sent to Younggungsa’s monks a deep gratitude for supporting good condition for the Vietnamese in Korea in learning Buddhism and for helping the Hoang Phap monks to complete their activities in Korea as well.
Then Ven. Thich Tam Dong, the monk from Hoang Phap, had a speech on the meaning of Vesak ceremony. Therein, he presents the value and lesson that people can learn from the Vesak ceremony.
Again, Ven. Thich Tam Thuc encouraged the Buddhist in Korea in learning and practicing Buddhism for the best result. The Buddha’s birth ceremony has been organized for remembering the Buddha and reminding us to take His teaching into daily practice. This is the way we repay to Him.
The ceremony finished after chanting the Praising Buddha Verse and taking bath for the Buddha child form.
In the afternoon, the monks together with people chanting the Eight thoughts of the Wise People and Compassion Sutras. Then a conversation in which the lay people will ask what makes them confusing and the monks will answer. For the last event, there was a Performance Song program was taken place for entertainment. Finally, the ceremony ended in the joy of all people.
