Vesak Ceremony in Temple Giai lam – Hà Tĩnh

According to Buddhism tradition, on the date of April 15th lunar calendar, the Buddhists around the world cheerfully welcome Vesak, Buddha Sakyamuni’s Birth Day.
In such atmosphere, Bhikkhus, Bhikkhunis and Lay-Buddhists have gathered at the regional temples to celebrate this great event with most respect. Buddha’s birth marked the start of a new view that we all have the potential of endless enlightenment inside. All sentient beings have Buddha nature inside and can become Buddha are Buddha Sakyamuni’s message to the world after he discovered the way to paramita deliverance from reincarnation suffering.
Heavenly music is gently echoing around
Sweet scents pervade all the ten directions
Vibrations just goes with the vast universe
As the signals for Buddha’s appearance.
Together with the Vesak blissful air in the country, Bhikkhus and Lay Buddhists in Giai Lam – Tinh Phap Temple , Thach Tan ward, Thach Ha Dist., Ha Tinh province, have got many celebrations for Buddha’s Birthday.
In the morning of May 15th, 2016 (April 9th lunar calendar), Giai Lam – Tinh Phap has solemnly celebrated the 2560thVesak (Year 2560 Buddhism Calendar).
The attendance includes Venerable Thich Chuc Cuong, Head of the Buddhist Ha Tinh province, Huu Lac Temple’s abbot; Venerable Thich Thien Nhon deputy head of the Buddhist Thach Ha district, Quang Thanh Temple’s abbot, other temples’abbots in Ha Tinh province, representatives of regional government, and Buddhists.
Exactly at 8:30, the organizers have solemnly started the ceremony. Junior Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, on behalf of the board has proclaimed "The message from the Head of Emeritus Committee - Viet Nam Buddhists to Bhikkhus, Bhikkhunis, Lay people in Vietnam on the occasion of 2506th Vesak – year 2016". Next, the Venerable Thich Tam Nguyen, has given the opening speech.
Ending the ceremony, the Senior Venerables and representatives have offered incense and carried out the Buddha bathing ritual in a spirit of solemn, respect and harmony in Vesak.
