Vesak day at Can Mon pagoda (An Phap), Nghe An province

To the great excitement of Buddhists across the world on Vesak day (Buddha’s birthday anniversary), Can Mon pagoda (An Phap), Tan Long village, Quynh Phuong commune, Hoang Mai district, Nghe An province, celebrated Vesak day (Buddhist calendar 2061; common calendar 2017) for over 1000 good men and believing women on 7 May 2017 (12 April, Year of Rooster).

In order to help the attendants fully understand Buddha’s biography and the compassionate reason He was born, before the solemn ceremony, Venerable Thich Tam Trong was invited to deliver an invaluable sermon to the whole assembly.

The solemn ceremony was conducted at 9:00 AM with the honor presence of Venerable Thich Tam Hieu, the Abbot of Can Mon pagoda, Venerable Thich Tam Trong, the Vice Abbot of Hoang Phap monastery, and the monks from many pagodas.

In the ceremony, Venerable Thich Tam Trong addressed the Chief of Buddhist clergy’s message. Venerable Thich Tam Hieu stated the speech of the Most Venerable, the Leader of Buddhist clergy. At last, washing Buddha’s statue ceremony and Buddha recitation which were conducted made the ceremony more dignified, respectful and warmer in a typical pagoda in Nghe An province (nam Thanh bac Nghe)
