Vesak Great Ceremony in 2022 at Hoa Phuc Pagoda

On the morning of May 15th, 2022 (April 15th, LC), Hoa Phuc Pagoda celebrated the Buddha's Birthday, Buddhism calendar 2566 in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, welcoming an event that the whole world was looking forward to.

In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly officially decided to choose April 15th (full moon day of Vesak month) as Vesak day or known as the Three Unions (Unification of three important events in the Buddha's Life: Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana).
In resolution 54/115 commemorating VESAK International Day of the United Nations, affirms three main points:
1. Recognition of Vesak Day as the World's Greatest Day, the United Nations Peace Feast;
2. Recognition of Vesak as the most sacred holiday in the world;
3. Recognizing the dedication of Buddhism as extremely useful and practical for foundation of Ethics, Peace, Spirituality, Equality, environmental protection, etc.,
On April 15th, Lunar Calendar every year, at the headquarters of the United Nations, New York, USA solemnly celebrates the Buddha's Birthday ceremony.
Continuing one year again, Vesak Holiday takes place when over the world suffers from the serious consequences of Covid-19 pandemic from economy, politics, culture, society, health and environment; However, the image of Shakyamuni Buddha, His teachings and disciples are continuing to sow the seeds of wisdom and compassion, which have always been a firm fulcrum for the whole world.
Thus, we are very proud to be the disciple of Buddha, because during 4000 years of history, Buddhism has always been a solid fulcrum for the whole nation, a tradition that is the cultural quintessence of our ancestor's life.
