Late female Novice Thich Nu Phuc Tho named Nguyen Thi Nao was born 1922. Because of old age, she followed the impermanent rule and gave up the physical body on Dec. 12th, 2023 (Oct. 30th, Year of the Cat), lived to be 101 years old.
The funeral had the presence of Junior Thich Tam Hue, monks and Buddhists at the pagoda, the Buddha Recitation Board of Hoang Phap pagoda, and her relatives inside and outside Binh Duong province.
The monks, Buddhists and family respectfully chanted the sutras, recited the Buddha's name, and vowed to bring merit to dedicate her spirit to be born early in the peaceful realm.
At the rite, Junior Thich Tam Hue praised the family's gratitude and repayment; then advised during 49 days after her death, the family should create many good deeds, eat vegetable meals, recite Buddha's name, release creatures, etc,..to transfer these merits to her soul. Moreover, all family members should unite, love, help together, and instruct the relatives to rely on the Three Jewel.
The monks gave dharma gifts, including: Lessons for Buddhists, Gift of Spring 2024, Retribution for Killing, and Buddhist recitation beads on this occasion.
The coffin lay at the private house, then cremated at Hoa Vien Cemetery in Binh Duong.
