Wedding Ceremony at Tay Khanh Pagoda
Update: 09/12/2020
On Dec. 07th, 2020 (lunar Oct. 23rd, the year of the rat), Tay Khanh Pagoda celebrated the Wedding Ceremony for the couple Quoc Long (Dharma name Tinh Long) and Minh Hang (Lien Hang).
Recognizing the significance of celebrating the wedding rite at the pagoda, the couple decided to invite monks to demonstrate their marriage rite to establish a new family. This is an opportunity for the bride, groom and their relatives to listen to the venerables imparting teachings on morality: being a wife, husband, bride, groom and parent in the future.
Under the witness of the Triple Jewel and their relatives, the groom and bride performed traditional rites, such as prostrating Three Jewels and parents, giving wedding rings for each other and vowing whole life to live to follow the moral principles that Buddha taught.
The ceremony was attended and witnessed by Junior Thich Tam Kinh, the abbot of Tay Khanh Pagoda, representing monks giving blessing words, encouraging and reminding them how to build a meaningful life for Buddhists. At the same time, monks also sent souvenir gifts to the young couple to remember their important event.
