Welcoming Monkey Year

Only few days left, new year is coming! Around the country, from urban to rural, mountains or delta, everyone is joyfully decorated everything to catch a new year coming, a traditional New year.

We are very lucky to live on Triratna for dharma practice, so when Spring is coming, we knelt under Buddha pedestal in a beloved temple with warm teachers and students, Sutra sweet praying in gong sound. Especially people’s hearts over the years away from home, far from gentle mother, far from beloved country, now they return in spring time, under the sunshine with cramful divine loves.

 

Going to temple and ignore worldly things

Praying and  vowing before Buddha

Vowing for everlasting peace

Everyone is happy around the world

Spreading wonderful light

Dispelling the darkness covered with delusion colors

All land sky, and the country are in peace

Spring is change into new ,beings are in safety

Things florish in spring

Peaceful pagodas are blossomed with Udumbara

Monks’ meditative walks are  strolling  smoothly in brown robe

Forming the paintings of spring

Which encourage buddhists everywhere

To enjoy full spring at monasteries.

 

To beautify for Maitreya in Monkey Year – Buddhist calendar 2560 – Christian calendar 2016, since mid- December, the monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda initiatively created unique models, becoming more joyful and warm to  people when they go for sightseeing, praying in the early NewYear days. This year, all the models are designed according to traditional features of each regions of ethnic Vietnamese. Highlights and features of all three regions : Northern-Central-Southern Vietnam will be created in the pagoda grounds.

 These motifs, patterns followed the North stylized temples, combined with traditional and modernity are made the monumental gate to welcome Buddhists everywhere for visiting and praying. Swinging game of ethnic minorities in mountainously northern region was built by monks on the campus of Avalokitesvara pedestal. Moreover, each tree on campus is decorated  calligraphy on Spring season with “banh chung”, “banh tet”, roots of every yellow apricot tree contributing to full spring of meditation to everyone. In the campus of ancestor’ stupa is a peach garden, with communal roof - a characteristic of Tay Nguyen basaltic soils. Some miniature scenery will be distinctive spots creating a beautiful frame to welcome the spring.

 

Familiar pictures of thatch roof, the spring of southern delta, was recreated on both sides of the main hall. All bring real closeness of NewYear here.

  

Behind the main hall, we will see extremely unique spots. The sample of “One-Pillar pagoda”, which has the most unique architecture of Vietnam. Built from the Ly Dynasty, the temple as a pure lotus among lotus lake, a unique metaphor in practice. Next to it, the model of “ Long Bien bridge - a witness history”, and one of “Khue Van”. These are famous scenic spots of Hanoi in particular, Vietnam in general, and this is also a pride of capital - thousands of years of civilization. What a bless of southern people of country, who never once set foot in the capital, but admire to the beauty of these unique landscapes at south spring place.

 

 It can be said that the harmony of combination between tradition and modernity has brought particular beauty for specific models. All of it includes the hope to bring new and strange things for guests, Buddhists during NewYear. In addition to receiving lucky enverlop, visitors will admire the beauty of three regions at Hoang Phap campus in this Monkey Year.
