Update: 12/01/2021
On January 10, 2021 (lunar Nov. 28th, LC), over 500 Buddhists returned to Hung Phap Pagoda (Xuan Hung, Xuan Loc, Dong Nai) to attend the one-day Retreat at the end of the year.
At 8:30 am, Junior Ven. Thich Tam An, abbot of Hung Phap pagoda, had a dharma talk with the topic "Looking Back a Past Year." The year 2020 is a year of fluctuations and disasters that we cannot forget is the Covid-19 epidemic. Starting in Wuhan at the end in 2019, but just over 365 days, the epidemic claimed more than 1.9 million fates and 89 million infected people from 220 countries worldwide, this number still not stopping to increase. Covid-19 has affected the economy, culture, tourism, aviation of many countries around the world, but not to mention a new variant virus of this disease in recent days. In our country, storms and floods have claimed 220 missing and died; Looking back one year, the Buddhists always recall that the teachings of life are impermanent, the fragile human life as in the Eight Enlightenment Things of Sutra taught: "The realm will be not safe...."; However, we are still happy to know we are still alive, we can still be with our loved ones, especially we still have the opportunity to practice Dharma and find peace and true happiness amid these insecurities of current life.
After the Dharma talk, Buddhists entered the time of walking meditation, reciting Buddha's name and having a meal. In the afternoon, Buddhists continued to sit meditation and recite Buddha's name.
Before leaving, the pagoda sent a Tet calendar and the New Year retreats in 2021 to male and female Buddhists.
